We're still producing 1.5mm (16Gg) Fully-Welded frames for unrivalled strength and we continue to offer tables in a range of standard sizes or made to measure. We are now able to deliver to the tightest of deadlines and we offer high quality stacking systems where required.

Recycle your second hand furniture - send it to African Schools!
Kirkhouse and Optimus Education Foundation (registered charity 1122212) have teamed up.
After many years of trying to resolve cost issues in the recycling of Polypropylene chairs (50,000 chairs = 50.00 GBP without taking transport costs into account) Kirkhouse has now teamed up with Optimus Education Foundation. Optimus take equipment to Africa for use in education systems in great need. Polypropylene chairs last forever, so taking your second hand chairs abroad will make a huge difference. Optimus will collect free of charge, with further dontations for fuel being greatly appreciated. Please with any queries.

Lifecycle assessment - recycled versus virgin Polyester
Lifecycle assesment analyses the full environmental impacts of a product, from its very creation until it's either disposed of or recycled. A standard LCA examines things such as the ammount of energy needed to make a product, how that process affects the ozone layer and what kinds of waste materials the process creates. The result of the LCA on recycled polyester fabric provides concrete proof that recycled is better than virgin - not just a bit but by far. Here are just some of the main aspects convered:
• Global warming potential - the release of gasses such as carbon dioxide and methane which contribute to global warming
• Ozone depletion potential - the release of substances that contribute to destruction of the earth's ozone layer
• Embodied energy - amount of energy contained in both the raw material and the product, and the amountof energy required to manufacture the raw material and product
• Embodied mass and water used - the total mass and water required to produce, recycle and/or dispose of raw materials and products

Recycle your old Poly chairs
Customers who are replacing old Polypropylene chairs can now recycle their old models with Kirkhouse. Our newly located Polypropylene recycling plant will grind down, clean up and process the material, creating new chairs, bin liners and other Polypropylene goods. We can process most Polypropylene shells, firstly we will need a picture of your chairs and your collection postcode. Please with any queries.

New for the contract market, Ninja from Berga Form Sweden includes one chair model and two tables that are ideal for outdoor use. Ninja chairs will stack and Ninja tables have tilt- tops for storage.
Ninja is available in Black, White or Green. Ninja frames are of robust Steel and are ideal for the wear and tear of outdoor use.

Curvy Chair Range
Kirkhouse met the Curvy sales team at Stockholm Furniture Fair way back in 2004. Curvy was new then; an exciting option competing head-on with the classic 40/4 design that dominated the market.
Curvy offers shaped seat and back boards in all Poly, all Wood, upholstered seat only or upholstered seat and back. There are numerous colour options throughout.
Curvy is manufactured within the EU and as such you can rest assured that the chrome plated frame is finished without causing harm to anyone or anything.

Leeds Grammar School

When well known designer, Gideon Davey, asked Kirkhouse for sturdy steel stacking chairs for use in Malmo Opera House, we were confident we could deliver. Working alongside Gideon, we selected the perfect chair for the job and had it delivered to Malmo within three weeks. Now we don't mind saying, that's service!
Gideon chose the KH0364 'Monarch' Series with Stirling Tweed.

72p Royal Mail Stamp includes S-312A
In 2008 the Royal Mail commissioned a series of stamps to commemorate Ecclesiastical Architecture. This image of Westminster Cathedral highlights the S-312A as specified by Westminster Cathedral in 1986. The chairs are still in use today.

Architects choose Balzar Beskow
We count many Architects and Specifiers as our colleagues and friends.
JBKS Architects of Thame specify Balzar Beskow Stacking Chairs in many of their Church schemes. The JBKS team, in Thame, Oxfordshire, have repeatedly specified our Balzar Beskow Collection for over 15 years.
Recognition from architects is always a pleasure, JBKS are no exception. The Hutchinson Studio of Clerkenwell offer similar praise. When Maxwell Hutchinson (RIBA President 1989 to 1991, Author & occasional TV Presenter) chose 200 S-312A chairs to furnish The Holy Redeemer in Exmouth Market (London), it was in the knowledge that Kirkhouse chairs could be in use for well over 100 years.
Our British manufactured chairs are also popular, particularly in Church renovations. We have completed some remarkable schemes, working alongside HLB Architects of Durham and various other practices.
