Fylde Borough Council - Chairs
8 March 2018 | Admin
In 2010 the Council agreed a strategy to retain the old Town Hall and invest in its conversion and restoration, whilst ensuring the refurbishment retained the historic features within the building.
Work started in 2013, with Kirkhouse being contacted in 2017 with a view to supply seating for the council chamber.
We liaised with various contacts throughout the furniture re-ordering. Our brief being broadly to supply a high-quality chair that would be in keeping with the new fitted chamber desking.
Three chairs were initially suggested, with a general preference for Caliber model. A visit was arranged with our factory representative whereby the product was discussed in fine detail.
The new chamber desking being designed to fit within a relatively restrictive floor space, the chair dimensions were critical.
With regards to aesthetics, there was a requirement to supply a wooden seat in a finish which would match the bespoke desks.
Timber stain swatches were provided an approved, alongside complimentary upholstery fabric.
In February 2018, Fylde Borough Council took delivery of 50 Caliber chairs with White Wash Timber Stain and Georgia 49309 upholstery fabric.
"We were looking for a chair design which complimented the bespoke fixed furniture we had commissioned for our refurbished council chamber. We selected the Kirkhouse Caliber upholstered stacking chair with stain/fabric to complement the existing finishes. We are very pleased, the chairs were delivered on time and look very well in the new chamber. Thanks!".
